The composition closely resembles an engraving by Giacinto Parbeni, said to be based on a painting formerly housed in the Palazzo Rospigliosi, Rome. An impression of Parbeni's engraving can be found at RCIN 851159.
Showing the full-length Virgin kneeling down before the Christ Child with her hands clasped in adoration, and with St Joseph genuflecting behind the Child while looking at the beholder on the right; in a landscape with ruins.
