Photograph of the view from General Bosquet's quarters, looking towards MacKenzie's Farm. A group of soldiers stand in the foreground, several holding spades. There is a group of tents around them and a horse to the right. On the open land behind there are tents and wooden huts with hills in the distance. MacKenzie's Farm was the home of the Scottish admiral who had supervised the construction of much of the Sevastopol base in the 1830s.
