Photograph of Sir Campbell sitting on an upholstered chair facing left. His legs are crossed and he is holding a sword in his left hand. He is wearing military uniform and a sash. There is an item of furniture covered with a cloth behind him to the left. Sir Campbell commanded the Highland Brigade during the Crimean War, and organised what came to be known as the 'thin red line' at the Battle of Balaklava.
