Photograph of a group of men of the 77th Regiment wearing winter clothes. Two men stand to the left holding long rifles and two men sit on the ground beside them to the right. They are wearing fur lined coats and fur hats. There is open land behind them. This photograph, printed by Jabez Hughes in 1883, is a carbon print pasted over the original photograph.

The 77th Regiment served in the Crimean War and fought in all of the major battles including the battles of Alma, Inkerman and Balaklava.
