Photograph of a British Private standing facing partly right in the full marching uniform of the 23rd Regiment. He is wearing a knapsack and other equipment on his back and has a long gun tucked under his right arm. There is a tent behind him and two cannon balls at his feet. This photograph, printed by Jabez Hughes in 1883, is a carbon print pasted over the original photograph.
