Marie Edmé Patrice Maurice de Mac-Mahon, Duc de Magenta was a French military leader and politician who served as Marshal of France in 1859, and as President of the Third Republic from 1873-79. He fought in numerous campaigns including the Battle of Malakoff during the Crimean War.
