Photograph of a group of British and French soldiers relaxing together. The men stand or sit in a loose line with the soldier in the middle sitting on a wooden barrel and pouring wine into the glass of the man standing beside him to the right. The soldier sitting to the far right is reading a newspaper and several are smoking pipes. All are wearing military uniform. There is a wooden hut to the right and two horses graze on the hillside behind them. British and French troops fought alongside each other in the Crimean War.
