Photograph of a group of soldiers gathered outside a wooden hut. In the centre of the group a soldier is sitting on a wheelbarrow leaning backwards and holding a cup in his right hand. To the left a soldier is sitting on a folding chair pouring a drink, and to the right a soldier sits on the ground holding forward a cup in his right hand. There are plates and bottles on the ground around them and three men are gathered around the doorway of the hut behind.

The men depicted are Captain John George Brown, Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel Alexander Low, and Captain George Thorne George of the 4th Dragoons.
