Photograph of eleven men gathered around a wooden cart. One man is lying on the top of the cart and the rest are standing or sitting around it. Most are wearing military uniform though some are wearing civilian clothes. There is a washing line behind them and the corner of a wooden hut can be seen to the right. The troops engaged in the Siege of Sevastopol camped in the countryside surrounding the town.
