Photograph of Captain Brown with a servant. Captain Brown is seated on a log chair and is holding a cigar in his left hand. His servant stands beside him to the right. Both are wearing fur coats and hats. There is a camp behind them.
Captain Brown served with the 4th (Queens Own) Light Dragoons during the Crimean War. He was wounded in the Charge of the Light Brigade whilst in command of the left-hand squadron of the regiment. He was also wounded at Inkerman on 5 November 1854.
