Photograph of a near full length portrait of Queen Victoria (1819-1901), seated in chair, captured in profile facing left. She wears  a white dress decorated with pink and green flowers and an indoor cap trimmed with wide blue ribbons.

On 30 June 1854, Queen Victoria states in her journal that both she and Prince Albert were 'very successfully photographed, but it took a long time.' (RA VIC/MAIN/QVJ/1854: 30 June)
