Photograph of a full length portrait of Princess Louise, later Duchess of Argyll (1848-1939), standing, facing halfway to the right. She turns her head three-quarters to the right and looks ahead, away from the camera. With both hands, she holds a plumed hat and striped shawl in front of her waist. There is a balustrade beside her, on the right side of the photograph, upon which sits a floral arrangement. There is a plinth and drapery on the left side of the photograph.
