Photograph of a full length double portrait of Prince Louis, later Grand Duke of Hesse (1837-92), and Princess Alice, later Grand Duchess of Hesse and by Rhine (1843-78). Princess Alice is seated and looks downwards. She holds her hands together in front of her. Prince Louis stands beside her and looks down at her. He holds a cane in his left hand.
