Photograph of a full length portrait of Lady Augusta Frederica Elizabeth Bruce, later Stanley (1822-76), seated beside a table, facing a quarter to the left. She looks down at her hands and appears to be doing some sort of needlework. Photograph likely to have been taken at Osborne.

Bruce was Resident Woman of the Bedchamber from 1861, Extra Woman of the Bedchamber between 1863 and 1876, and previously Lady-in-Waiting to the Duchess of Kent.
