Photograph of a full length portrait of Dora d'Istria standing, facing slightly towards the left. She turns her head towards the camera and gazes towards the right. She places her right hand on a plinth positioned beside her and holds a pair of gloves in her left hand.

Dora d'Istria was the pen name of duchess Helena Koltsova-Massalskaya. Whilst this carte is in an album of French identities, the duchess was Romanian, however, she gained fame for works written in French.
