Photograph of a full length portrait of Prince Alfred, later Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1844-1900) seated on a barrel, facing towards the camera. He holds up a goblet in his right hand and places his left hand on his thigh. He wears a leopard skin tunic and sandals over a light colour shirt and tights. He wears a wreath of grapes on his head. Prince Alfred is dressed as the embodiment of Autumn for the Tableau of the Seasons, performed at Windsor Castle.
