Photograph of the exterior of Whippingham Church on the Isle of Wight. The wall in the foreground is under construction.
The main part of the church including the chancel, was constructed in the mid 1850s, with final construction work occurring in the early 1860s when this photograph was taken. Prince Albert (1819-61) worked with the architect Albert Jenkins Humbert (1822-77) in the design of the church, otherwise known as St Mildred's Church.
