Photograph album bound in morocco leather featuring albumen prints of the interiors of Windsor Castle and Frogmore House to show rooms that had been occupied by Prince Albert. The album includes photographs of the construction of the Royal Mausoleum and Prince Albert's effigy.
This album was given to Princess Helena by Queen Victoria. On the first page of the album, Queen Victoria wrote 'To dear Lenchen, In recollection of the dreadful day in our Lives- from her devoted & unhappy Mamma, Dec: 14, 1863'. On the back page, Queen Victoria has written 'To do good was your aspiration and you were joy and happiness to us' (translated from German). Princess Helena has captioned a selection of the photographs.
