A heavily worked miniature by Moira, based on a photograph taken by John Mayall on 1 December 1861, shortly before the Prince Consort's untimely death, showing him seated, three-quarter-length, writing at a table (RCIN 2105675). The artist has made an alteration to the contour of the sitter's right lapel.
