AFTER GEORGE WASHINGTON WILSON (1823-93)

Balmoral Castle, the north terrace

1883 after an 1863

Carbon print | 8.3 x 7.5 cm (image) | RCIN 2620008

Photograph of a view of the north terrace of Balmoral Castle. There is a path and lawned area in the foreground, leading to a set of stairs connected to the castle.

This photograph is a later carbon copy of the original albumen photograph. Carbon was a process that was less susceptible to fading, unlike an albumen print that is prone to discolouration over time.
