Photograph of Donald Stewart, a Ghillie from the Balmoral estate, seated on a grassy mound with a stag that had been shot by Prince Albert on Corrie Buie at his feet. Stewart wears a kilt and tweed jacket and holds a telescope. In the background is the old Balmoral Castle.

This photograph was taken by the partnership of George Washington Wilson and John Hay who were commissioned to photograph the keepers and Jagers who accompanied the Prince Consort during the hunting of deer on the Balmoral estate. In addition to these portraits, photographs were made of the game that was shot by the Prince.
