Photograph of a hill in the background known as the Abbey Craig situated in Stirling. In the foreground are houses behind which is a field with a long stone wall bisecting it. The River Forth can also be seen in the centre background.
The Abbey Craig is part of the quartz-dolerite geological base known as the Stirling Sill and is part of the same outcrop that Stirling Castle is built on. The Wallace Monument that commemorates Sir William Wallace (c. 1270-1305), is built on top of the Craig.
