Built in the Perpendicular Gothic style, the Henry VII chapel began construction in 1503 and was completed in 1509. It was intended to be a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary and as the burial site for King Henry VII and his family. The pennants of the members of the Order of the Bath have hung in the chapel since 1725.
