Photograph of a painted half length portrait of Princess Victoria, Duchess of Kent (1786-1861) seated, facing three-quarters to the right. She looks to the right. She places her right hand on a nearby table.

The painting depicted is by Franz Xaver Winterhalter (1786-1861) and is held by the Royal Collection (RCIN 405385). The painting was commissioned in June 1861, following the Duchess's death in March of the same year. Winterhalter may have worked from photographs to achieve a likeness.
