Carbon print | 7.5 x 7.2 cm (image) | RCIN 2320089
Photograph of a view of the General Post Office and Nelson's Pillar on Sackville Street, now O'Connell Street, Dublin. There are two horse-and-carts and a horse-drawn carriage in front of the post office.
A carbon copy is adhered on top of the original albumen print. Carbon prints are more stable compared to albumen prints, the latter prone to fading. Carbon copies were therefore created for posterity.
