Landscape, Nature and Architecture
Technological improvements enabled Prince Albert to collect photographs of places that were significant to him
'Christ Church, Dublin'
c.1880 after an original of c.1860Carbon print | 8.0 x 7.4 cm (image) | RCIN 2320094
Photograph of an exterior view of Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin. The Cathedral is surrounded by an iron fence. There is a road in the foreground.
A carbon copy is adhered on top of the original albumen print. Carbon prints are more stable compared to albumen prints, the latter prone to fading. Carbon copies were therefore created for posterity.
