Photograph of a painting of a portrait of Margaret Cavendish Bentinck, Duchess of Portland (1715-85) by Charles Jervas (c. 1675-1739). The sitter is depicted half length, standing, facing towards the viewer. She turns her head slightly to the left. The sitter wears a hat with feather decoration, and a richly embroidered jacket with lace cuffs. The painting is inscribed with the name of the sitter, in the upper right corner.
