Photograph of a painting of a full length portrait of a young girl, standing, facing the viewer. She wears a floor length dress and hairpiece. She holds a ribbon with both hands. There is a floral arrangement on the ribbon. A small dog, possibly a spaniel, plays at her feet. In the background, on the right, there is a view of a landscape through a door.
At the time of the photograph, the painting was attributed to Michael Dahl (1659–1743) and the sitter was identified as 'Miss Cavendish M. Harley'.
