Photograph of the painting 'Mount St. Michael's, Cornwall' by Clarkson Stanfield (1793-1867). The painting depicts various boats in rough water. In the foreground, it appears a boat has sunk and those on board are escaping by small boats. St. Michael's Mount features prominently in the background.
At the time of the photograph, the painting was in the collection of Henry William Eaton (1816–91). The painting is now held by the National Gallery of Victoria, Australia.
