Photograph of a painting of 'A Scene from "Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme"' by William Powell Frith (1819-1909). The painting depicts a man bowing before a young couple. The woman holds a lead, attached to a small dog that stands beside her, on the left. On the far right, a man peers around a door. Another man can be seen through the door.

At the time of the photograph, the painting was in the collection of S. Medal. The painting is currently held by the Harris Museum and Art Gallery, Preston.
