'Girl with a Dove'
1857Albumen print | 19.0 x 15.6 cm (image) | RCIN 2081384
Photograph of a painting of a three-quarter length portrait of a young girl holding a dove. The young girl is seated on a chair beside a table. The dove is seated on the table, with its wings outstretched. The girl places both arms around the dove and gazes towards the viewer. The painting appears to have been photographed in its frame as identification numbers, likely attached to the frame, are located on both lower corners of the photograph.
At the time of the photograph, the painting was in the collection of Robert Stayner Holford (1808-92). The painting is now held by the Musée de la Chartreuse, Douai, France.
