Balmoral Castle from the SW

c. 1862

Albumen print | 10.9 x 17.1 cm (image) | RCIN 2160355

Photograph of Balmoral Castle from the South West with a driveway leading from the bottom right corner to the porte cochère of the castle. Trees and bushes flank the drive.

This view of the new Balmoral Castle was a favourite of Wilson's and he returned on many occasions to photograph the castle from this perspective. Many of the images feature a bench in the foreground, some include a seated figure.
