Practical information

  • The safety and wellbeing of our visitors and staff are our priority. To allow everyone to enjoy their visit while maintaining social distancing we are operating with reduced visitor capacity. A new one-way route is in place to support these measures. Some very small parts of the exhibition where social distancing is impossible are closed, as well as the Millar Learning Room.   • You can visit The Queen's Gallery at your leisure using the complimentary multimedia guide, which lasts approximately 1 hour.
  • You and your belongings may be subject to security checks. Read more about security & luggage.
  • You can take photographs in the Gallery. Read about photography, filming & mobile phones.
  • Your ticket includes a multimedia guide.
  • Eating and drinking aren't allowed inside the Gallery.
  • Toilets and baby-care facilities are available. Capacities are being managed with an enhanced cleaning regime in operation.
  • Pushchairs can be taken into the Gallery except at very busy times, when they will need to be left in the Undercroft on the ground floor and collected at the end of your visit. Read more about visiting with children.

The exhibition brings together some of the most important paintings in the Royal Collection from the Picture Gallery at Buckingham Palace. The room was originally designed by the architect John Nash for George IV to display his collection of Dutch, Flemish and Italian Old Master paintings. Artists represented in the exhibition include Titian, Guercino, Guido Reni, Vermeer, Rembrandt, Van Dyck, Rubens, Jan Steen, Claude and Canaletto.

Our shop offers a wide range of exclusive gifts inspired by the royal palaces and the works of art in the Royal Collection.

Coach parking

There is no coach parking near The Queen's Gallery. Once your booking is confirmed we will advise the nearest set down location.

Guiding

Visitors can enjoy a free multimedia tour. Guiding isn't allowed inside the Gallery.

Access and mobility

The Queen's Gallery is fully accessible. Concessionary rates are available for you if you have a disability and an accompanying companion is admitted free of charge. In line with government policy you should, if you are not exempt, wear a face covering whilst in The Queen’s Gallery and shop. Accessible toilets and limited seating are available and registered assistance dogs are welcome. A number of Wardens are Dementia Friends. The Gallery comprises three large exhibition rooms and a number of smaller spaces and you may download the floorplan here.
