Carpenter writes in response to a letter from Dr. Becker, saying that he agrees that the drawings now in Miss Woodburn's possession should be bought for the British Museum. He has not shown Becker's letter to the Principal Librarian of the Museum as it is marked private, but he is confident that Panizzil will be in favour.

A copy of Becker's response (see VIC/ADDA10/85/43a) is written at the end of the letter.
