This watercolour proposal for the Albert Memorial depicts a topographical view with figures in the middle ground and trees behind. The finished memorial was unveiled in 1872 with the central statue, designed by Marochetti and completed by J.H. Foley, following in 1876. The watercolour is signed bottom right Geo: Gilbert Scott RA and was presented to the Queen by the designer.
