A photograph of a drawing by Raphael (c.1509-11) currently in the Musée des Beaux-Arts, Lille (inv. no.455). The drawing has been associated with a number of Virgin and Child compositions painted by Raphael between 1507 and 1512, including the so-called Garvagh Madonna (see RCIN 850880).

This drawing is on the verso of a sheet depicting other studies for a Virgin and Child: see RCIN 850749 for a photograph of the recto.

The photograph shows the three-quarter length Virgin, seated, holding the Christ Child on her lap, who reaches for His mother's veil with His left hand while looking up at her; framed with lines.
