A photograph of the right half of a drawing by Raphael (c.1505) now in the Musée du Louvre, Paris (inv. no.3856 v). For a photograph of the left half of the sheet see RCIN 851250.

The sketch reproduced in this photograph is copied from Michelangelo’s Taddei Tondo, a circular relief sculpture now housed in the Royal Academy of Arts, London. Ruland (1876) did not describe this drawing as a copy after Michelangelo and associated it with Raphael’s Bridgewater Madonna (c.1507) currently on loan to the National Gallery of Scotland, Edinburgh (inv. no.NGL 065.46) from the Duke of Sutherland Collection.
