A photograph of a drawing by Raphael in the British Museum ( In his Raphael Collection catalogue (1876), Ruland listed the drawing as being then in the collection of William Russell, Esq.

The photograph shows two studies for a composition of the Virgin with the Child; the artist made numerous drawings for Virgin and Child compositions.
