Holy Family with St Elizabeth and St John the Baptist

A photograph of a cartoon generally ascribed to G.F. Penni now in the Museo e Gallerie Nazionali di Capodimonte, Naples (inv. no.2512). The cartoon corresponds largely to the so-called ‘Madonna del Divino Amore’ (c.1516), a painting currently attributed to Raphael’s workshop (inv. no.146), also housed in the Museo e Gallerie Nazionali di Capodimonte, Naples (inv. no.146). Showing the seated Virgin holding the blessing Christ Child on her legs, with St Elizabeth at her side and the Young St John the Baptist kneeling down on the left; St Joseph stands in the background to the left.
