A chiaroscuro woodcut reproducing a composition which, as indicated by the inscription below the image, was created by Julius Dietze. The figures of the woman and the child are derived from Raphael's so-called Orléans Madonna, a painting (c.1506-1507) now in the Musée Condé, Chantilly (inv. no.PE 39). See RCIN 850732 for a photograph of the painting.
