c. 1858RCIN 2083288
Glass plate negative of an ambrotype nailed down on a wooden board (RCIN 2932490). The work shows Princess Victoria wearing her wedding dress. She is seated facing left wearing a lace dress decorated with flowers and a veil.
The negative has been masked out twice, indicating the photographer's intention to crop the work to the smaller square.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. Prints from this negative exists in the Collection. (e.g. 2905594).
