Glass plate negative of a full-length portrait of Victoria, Princess Royal, later Empress of Germany (1840-1901), seated, facing halfway to the right. She turns her head towards the camera, and gazes ahead. She places her right elbow on her right leg, and rests her chin in her right hand. She wears a riding habit and holds riding crop in her left hand.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative exists in the Collection, RCIN 2900054.
