Glass plate negative of a full length portrait of Princess Mary of Cambridge (1833-1897) seated, facing three-quarters to the right. She wears a dark colour dress and a shawl. On the right of the photograph stands a small, circular table.
Princess Mary Adelaide, a granddaughter of King George III, was married to Francis, Duke of Teck. She was the mother of Queen Mary.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. Prints from this negative exist in the Collection, RCINs 2914376 and 2906622.
