Glass plate negative of a full length portrait of Princess Helena (1846-1923) standing, facing towards the camera. She wears a long, light coloured gown with long sleeves and high necklace. She wears a crown and veil and holds a cross. Princess Helena is dressed as 'The Spirit Empress' in the concluding Tableau of the Seasons, performed at Windsor Castle.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print of this work exists in the Royal Collection, RCIN 2083151.
