Jun 1860RCIN 2082599
Glass plate negative of a full length double portrait of Princess Helena and Princess Louise. Princess Louise stands, facing a quarter to the left. She looks ahead, away from the camera and places one arm around her sister. She holds a flower in the other hand. Princess Helena is seated, facing halfway to the left. She looks ahead, away from the camera and holds a book open with both hands on her lap. The sisters are posed between two plinths and are dressed in a similar fashion.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative exists in the Collection, RCIN 2900345.
