Princess Beatrice (1857-1944) with two women

Jul 1858

Wet collodion negative | RCIN 2084443

Glass plate negative of full length portrait of Princess Beatrice seated, facing towards the camera. She wears a long-sleeved dress and a bonnet, the ribbon tied under her chin. She is flanked by two people, possibly Princess Alice and the nanny, Mary Ann Thurston.

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print of this work exists in the Collection, RCIN 2900137.
