Prince Leopold, later Duke of Albany (1853-84) and Prince Arthur, later Duke of Connaught (1850-1942)

1860

Glass plate negative of a full length double portrait of Prince Leopold, on the right, and Prince Arthur, on the left. The brothers are seated, facing towards the camera. They both look to the right. Prince Arthur places one arm around his younger brother. Both princes wear Highland dress.

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative exists in the Collection, RCIN 2900323.
