Prince Alfred, later Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1844-1900)

Glass plate negative featuring two full-length portraits of Prince Alfred standing. The prince is positioned beside a table and faces towards the camera. He is wearing a naval uniform and holds his cap in one hand. A globe, a telescope and a pile of books can be see on top of the table.

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. Prints from this negative do not seem to exist in the Collection.
