Apr 1860

RCIN 2082707

Glass plate negative featuring two full-length group portraits of Prince Alfred, the Duchess of Kent and Princess Alice. The Duchess is seated at the centre of the group, her grandchildren standing either side. The princess extends her hands towards her grandmother, while the prince holds a top hat on one hand. Photographs taken in Buckingham Palace.

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. Prints from both images exist in the Collection, RCINs 2513465 and 2117050.
