Glass plate negative of Peter Farquarson in a full length portrait, seated on a chair and facing three-quarters to the right. He wears Balmoral tweeds and cap. A leather strap hangs from his shoulder, crossing to his hip. Photographed against a stone wall.

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A variant from the same sitting exists in the Collection, RCIN 2160349.
